July 6, 2008: Stephan Anthony
"In my darkest moments and most fearful desperation, God's love appeared. I feel it is my obligation to shine that love in all that I do and all that I am."
Stephan Anthony is 24 years old and has been involved heavily in the Global Heart Spiritual Center since he was 17. At the age of 20, Stephan finished Practitioner training, under his mentor, teacher, and minister, Rev. Michael Torphy. Stephan has been an active practitioner in the Global Heart Spiritual Center for the past four years, and has served on the Core Council of the Spiritual Center since 2004. He has served as the Core Chair for the past two years. Along with his work at the Spiritual Center, Stephan is also a Youth Counselor, working at the Blue River Center, dedicating the past two years to helping family's and troubled youth who are involved in the Mesa County Department of Human services (DHS).
While extensively trained in religious science, as well as counseling through classes at Mesa State and DHS, Stephan's greatest life lessons and joy have come from being the father of a beautiful two year old daughter.
Stephan's passion has long existed in serving the Spiritual Center and giving back to a community that helped transform his troubled life into a success. Having come from an abusive and painful childhood, and having been incarcerated twice as an adolescent, Stephan believes that all challenges can be transcended through the awareness of God's loving presence, and the practice of spiritual principles. Stephan is honored to have the opportunity to share his love of Spirit through his Sunday talk on July 6th. Stephan's talk is titled "If I Only Had Right Now," and will share his experiences learning how to live in the now and celebrate each moment.

The
Global Heart Spiritual Center is a center for spiritual evolution, inspiration,
and healing through church services, spiritual and philosophical classes and workshops,
spiritual film screenings, spiritual concerts, author lectures, religious and
cultural exchanges, prayer and spiritual counseling. It also homes Global Heart
Books and Gifts, and extensive Spiritual lending library, the Healing Arts Coop
& Expo, Alanon, and the Dances for Universal Peace.
This
Spiritual Center is a Divine Pathway to well-being and inspired living. It was
founded in 1981 and has continued to grow into a place where everyone who enters
the doors realizes it is the heart of all religions. It is a point of light for
diversity and inclusiveness.
Its sole purpose
is to be a place where individuals can heal, grow and expand into their own awareness
of the presence of God. Our philosophy celebrates the recognition that there is
no separation between ourselves, our neighbors and God; we are truly one.
