Sunday, December 21: 173 Little Park Road!

On this Sunday,  Samuel Baseler has offered his home for our circle!  His title for that day is “On Becoming a Hollow Reed”.  Bring potluck to share!

For those of you who may not know much about Samuel, here is something to whet your appetite:  What excites Samuel Baseler the most is serving as a catalyst, assisting others to become more of who they are and what they came here to be.  This may involve a comment designed to stretch the mind a bit or insight when needed, or a moment of laughter when appropriate. That desire to expand everyone has taken the form of 24 years of teaching on high school and college levels.  Former students generally agree, even some 40 years later, “He taught us to think.”  Or, as one parent astutely put it, “We have Mr Baseler and his ideas as the topic of conversation every night.”  During those public teaching years, Samuel discovered New Thought by attending both Unity and Religious Science centers in Grand Junction and elsewhere.  Delving ever more deeply into the esoteric aspects of various traditions, he discovered the I Am teachings as brought forth by Guy Ballard, Sufism, Hinduism, the works of Alice Bailey, Baird Spalding, Ernest Holmes, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore and numerous others, including the work of Patricia Cota-Robles.  Frequent trips to Mt. Shasta, California, brought him in contact with individuals living the transformative life.  Samuel began assisting others to release blockages in their own energy fields in 1988, thus aiding the transformation process for those who felt limited by old beliefs and behavior patterns.  He calls his work Energy Coagulation Release and Repatterning.  He observes that his laughter and joy helps uplift those around him as well as those choosing one of his formal sessions.  You may have been waited on by Samuel at the Horn O’Plenty Health Food Store from 1998 to 2006 or seen him in a Cabaret dinner theatre production during that time as well.  He currently facilitates an Intenders Circle designed to help individuals manifest their dreams and desires.  Contact Samuel through the web at www.samuelbaseler.com.

Samuel lives at 173 Little Park Road and has provided directions to his home as follows.  If any questions, please contact him at 243-3247.

173 Little Park Road---Take Grand Avenue to the West (towards The Monument).  Cross over railroad; cross over Colorado River; and get in the left lane.  Turn L on Monument Road (1st stoplight after river) and Go 2 short blocks.  Go L on D Road access which becomes Rosevale Road.  Go 1.2 miles.  Then Turn R on Little Park Road: uphill 1.8 miles to 7 mailboxes on single standard on R. Veer R off of asphalt onto gravel driveway.  Look toward Colorado National Monument; see salmon colored stucco house – that is the goal.  Follow main trunk driveway down then up hill.  R on 4th branch at sandstone sign “Tor Caerdich” (name of house)---30 yards and you are there!

ANNUAL WORLD HEALING MEDITATION

TAKES PLACE AT KOINONIA CHURCH!

For many years now, The Global Heart Spiritual Center has offered its location as a local site for The World Healing Meditation in which people of all faiths and cultures participate.  This year, The Global Heart and Koinonia Church are partnering to offer the meditation in Grand Junction.  Around the world, The World Healing Meditation begins at Noon Greenwich Time, which is 5:00a.m. in Grand Junction.  Even though the hour is early the time spent is well worth it as many participants have noted over the years.  The intention of the hour long meditation is to create a powerful gathering of people around the world to simultaneously focus minds and hearts in an affirmation of Peace, Love, Forgiveness and Understanding and carry this into how we lead our lives.

This year, the meditation will take place at Koinonia Church located at 730 25 Road.  All are invited to join in the meditation circle at 5:00a.m. and stay for a potluck breakfast.  Please bring food to share, participate in this planetary affirmation of healing and celebrate 22 years of consciously co-creating a peaceful world that works for everyone!

To honor the global participation of this event, the meditation begins promptly at 5:00a.m. on Wednesday, December 31st.  The hour-long meditation will include readings about peace to contemplate during the quiet time.  Participants will sit in chairs surrounding a large floor mandala decorated with flower petals and leaves, symbolizing the unity of all life ongoing everywhere. For purposes of additional warmth and comfort, participants may choose to bring their own lap blankets for the early morning meditation.

For more details about the meditation in Grand Junction, please call (970)361-8308.   For more information about this worldwide event or to share it with family and friends, go online to: http://www.quartus.org/WorldHealingDay.html

THANK YOU:    This month, we are grateful for the C.O.R.E. Council members of The Global Heart Spiritual Center.  Each one of them brings a unique light and consciousness to the operation of the Center, making it more than just an idea in the mind of God.  They are willing, loving and open spaces for the possibilities presented, as well as, vehicles to complete the task at hand.  Through the challenges of the past two years, this C.O.R.E. Council has stood in faith and acted from Divine Guidance.  They are good stewards of the Spiritual Center and loving reflections of The Divine.

Fear To Faith

We are grateful to have Paula Bellegie, RScP facilitating FEAR TO FAITH beginning at 10am on Saturday, December 20th.  Join us at the conference room at Main Street Bagels at 10am!  For more information, contact Sherry at 261.7695.

PAULA BELLEGGIE, RScP

Paula Belleggie is a person on fire with passion for life. At the root of her passion is an intense desire to fully empower herself and others to LIVE fully. One of the ways this is expressed is through her work as hospice chaplain. Paula feels honored and privileged to serve those that are experiencing their end of life journey. "There is something exchanged at the soul level that surpasses all explanation…. And it matters not what the person's faith is or if they have faith at all. There is a greater awareness of the connection to all life and a willingness to let go of the unimportant stuff as we companion with those that are transitioning."

Paula is a third year student at Holmes Institute and a licensed Global Heart Practitioner for more than five years. She has initiated ministries and served in many areas of ministry in UCSL, ICSL and Unity Churches. Wherever she goes she brings her love, compassion and joy and fully immerses herself whether she is teaching, counseling, speaking, or facilitating. When she is not engaged in ministry Paula enjoys being in nature, hiking, biking, cooking and spending time with her family and animals. MISSSION: To raise the consciousness of integrity in communication on this planet. VISION: A world in which all beings are heard fully and compassionately and lovingly embraced as the Truth of their Being. A world in which it is safe to speak what is on one's heart without fear or reservation… and to speak that truth gently.

*GIVE THE WORLD A PRESENT AT THE HOLIDAYS!

Every year, Grand Valley Peace and Justice and St. Joseph's Parish sponsor an alternative to buying traditional gifts for friends and family at the many holidays that take place in and around December.  Their event is called The Alternative Christmas Fair and it takes place on Sunday, November 23rd from 9am to 2pm at the St. Joseph Parish Hall located at 3rd and White Avenue.  Instead of having our regular Sunday service that day, we are giving service at this event and giving a precious gift to the world by doing so!  Along with the option of helping with set up of the event on Saturday afternoon November 22nd from 3 to 5pm, we need volunteers to help at our own booth at the event!  Please sign up with Sherry to give your sacred service.

Our booth this year offers people the opportunity to buy a share of nursing and medical treatment for a sick child for $12 or a share of specialized equipment or rehabilitation for $30.  Since the year 2000, the political situation in The Holy Land has deteriorated significantly.  Many Palestinians have been unable to access medical facilities in Israel due to closure, curfews, movement restrictions and their inability to secure needed permits to enter Israel.  This has created a health care crisis for sick children.  Because the majority of Palestinian households have been without work, and 70% are living in poverty, families must turn to charity.  There will be many other booths available that day offering gifts that you buy in honor of one of your loved ones that also benefits communities and individuals around the world.  When you buy a gift, volunteers write out cards by hand acknowledging that gift.  The day of the event, people are also needed to fill out these gift cards by hand---so if you have "nice" handwriting this is something you might consider!  We would love your help in decorating our booth and working it on Sunday, too, so there is a lot to choose from!  Give the gift of your service and give the world a present this holiday season, as well!

*THANK YOU:

This month, we would like to thank all of you who have made a commitment to actively move this Spiritual Center forward in Love, Joy, Abundance, Faith, Vision, and Peace.  Your generosity, attendance, service, creativity, willingness and laughter has already directed us on a path that is fresh, new and alive!  All of our speakers and special musical guests have commented on the positive and loving flow of energy that they experience when they come to give service on Sundays.  Your focused creative thought and positive intentions are indeed reflecting a world that works for everyone right here in our own spiritual community.  Thank you for the blessing of your presence, your tithes and offerings and your very being.
